Kristen Bell is ringing in her 39th birthday on Thursday, but her family finds her wise beyond her years.
“How old do you think I’m turning?” Bell asks her girls, who are kept off camera.
“Six… fifty…” Delta thinks out loud, before landing on “63.”
“How old do you think I’m turning, Link?” Bell asks her older daughter, who takes the over, answering “89.”
Bell then looks at husband Dax Shepard, who is also heard off-camera, and asks with a laugh, “Okay, Dad, how old do you think I’m turning?”
“I think a safe bet, somewhere in the middle of those two guesses, so… 71?” Shepard gamely replies, while Bell can’t help but burst into giggles. “Is that right?”
“I’m turning 39,” Bell finally reveals.

In addition to her birthday on July 18, the actress has something else to celebrate this month: the return of Veronica Mars.
The cult classic show — which originally aired on UPN and then The CW for three seasons — is being rebooted on Hulu.
Bell recently opened up about how Delta and Lincoln inspired her to sign on for the job, which required her to be away from them for long periods of time.

And when I decided to take it on I was like, you know what, now that I went back and reread the scripts and watched the show, I want my girls to have this character in their life.”
“Now I see why a lot of young girls and women said, thank you for doing that show. It wasn’t just because we entertained them, it was because she was a force in their life,” the Frozen actress went on, saying that Veronica is an empowering character. “She was an example.”
The family recently returned from their annual summer vacation in Michigan, where Bell and Shepard are both from.
Both parents shared a rare photo of their daughters on July 4, shot from behind as the family gazes up at a fireworks display from the sand.
“Grateful for so many things today,” Bell captioned her post, while Shepard said, “Never been in a more magical setting for the festivities. ”

A father has been charged with capital murder after his two autistic sons tragically drowned when he drove his family off a Port of Los Angeles pier in California four years ago.
On April 9, 2015, Ali Elmezayen was driving with his wife and their sons — 13-year-old Elhassan and 8-year-old Abdelkrim — in San Pedro when he plunged into the water.
While at the time Ali said it was an accident, following an investigation, Ali was charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office revealed in a statement.
Ali also faces “special circumstance allegations of multiple murders” as it is believed the killings were carried out for “financial gain,” according to the statement.
Just before the incident, Ali had purchased several accidental death insurance polices worth more than $6 million on himself, his wife and their children, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California said in a release.
Witnesses on the scene said they heard “tires of the car screech loudly and saw the car accelerate before it flew off the edge of the wharf, crashed into the water and immediately sunk,” FBI agent Matthew Parker wrote in an affidavit in November 2018, according to reporting by the Associated Press and U.S. News and World News Report.
Swimming out of the open driver’s side window, Ali quickly surfaced, according to the U.S. Attorney’s release. He paddled to the safety of a nearby ladder on the side of the pier, CBS News reported.
Unable to swim, his wife Rabib Diab, did her best to stay afloat as she frantically sought help for her children, screaming, “My kids, my kids!” the Associated Press reported.

Diab was pulled out of the water by a nearby fisherman who threw her a flotation device, according to the release.
But the two boys, who were autistic, were unable to escape and drowned, the release states. According to the AP and CBS, the children were strapped into child seats.
The couple’s third son was away at camp, according to the AP.
Ali told investigators he may have accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake, the AP reported. He also cited medication he had taken for a blood condition two days earlier, Newsweek reported.
But federal prosecutors allege he spent several years preparing to set his deadly plan in motion.
“This case alleges a calculated and cold-hearted scheme to profit off the deaths of two helpless children,” U.S. Attorney Nick Hanna said in the release.
After the children died, Ali collected more than $260,000 in insurance proceeds from two insurance companies on the accidental death insurance policies he had taken out on the children’s lives in 2012 and 2013, according to the release.
At this time, Ali is in federal custody on insurance fraud charges, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
“Once that case is completed, Ali will be tried on the murder charges.”
If convicted, Ali faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison without the possibility of parole or death. A lawyer for Ali could not immediately be identified.
A Bakersfield, California car dealer has been found dead in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Jose Arredondo, a well-respected member of the Bakersfield community who immigrated to the United States in the 1970s from Mexico, was found this week in a home that he owned in the popular resort town, local outlet KGET News reported on Tuesday.
Arredondo was also the father to 17-year-old K-pop star Samuel, according to Yahoo News. Samuel, whose full name is Samuel Kim Arredondo and has also gone by the nickname “Punch,” appeared in his dad’s car dealership commercials as a child and went on to perform as part of the duo 1Punch.
Now living in South Korea, he released his debut solo album in 2017.
Details surrounding the circumstances of Arredondo’s death remain few, though Baja California Sur state prosecutors said his body “showed signs of blunt force trauma,” according to the Associated Press.
No suspects have been publicly identified at this time, Bakersfield.com reported Wednesday, but investigations into what is being called a home invasion are ongoing.
“We are closely monitoring local authorities’ investigation into the cause of death,” a United States State Department official told the AP on Tuesday.
Members of Arredondo’s church are mourning his death, which pastor James Ranger called “murder.”
“I will miss you my dear friend….until we meet again,” Ranger wrote in the post, which included an old video of Arredondo, encouraging donations to the church to renovate one of their campuses.

“In this video you hear his heart for Jesus, the Church, for reaching the needy, and…then at then end…his understanding about the end of life and hearing Jesus say, ‘Well done,’” Ranger added. “He is now hearing those words.”
“One day in heaven, we will be celebrating,” Arredondo says in the video shared by Ranger.
After Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss and his estranged wife Laura met in 2012 and fell in love, those close to the couple were celebrating their union.
“When they met and fell in love, everyone was really happy for them,” a source who knows the couple tells PEOPLE about the pair, who wed on April 6, 2014 at Mike’s Malibu home in a ceremony officiated by the ABC reality show’s host, Chris Harrison.
“She was good for him and helped balance him,” the source says about Laura, 31, and Mike, 55, “was really happy in the beginning and they were in love.”
But “obviously something changed,” the source adds.
The filing also states that Mike has a prenuptial agreement with Laura, with whom he shares 4-year-old son, Benjamin. Additionally, Mike requested joint legal and physical custody of the child.
Less than a week after Mike’s divorce filing, Laura — a former Miss Wisconsin who was crowned Miss America in 2012 — filed for an emergency domestic violence restraining order after she claims Mike physically attacked her and “demanded” she get an abortion over the July 4 weekend, according to her declaration obtained by The Blast.
Laura states in her declaration that the pair met in 2012 when she participated in the Miss America pageant and he was a judge.
According to the documents filed in court by attorneys Samantha Spector and Lisa Meyer, Laura said that she is “approximately 10 weeks pregnant.”
“Our son Ben was in the house, seated in another room nearby,” Laura alleges in the documents. “Mike told me, ‘If you have an abortion, then we can just go back to the way we were.’”
“Prior to July 4th, Mike threatened me that if I did not have an abortion, he would end the marriage,” she claims in the documents. “This was not the first time he had threatened a divorce during our marriage, but now, he was using this threat as leverage to force me to have an abortion. In addition, on July 4th, Mike made the following statements to me: ‘I am cutting you off financially Monday morning’; ‘You are paying for everything with your money’; ‘Next time I see you, I don’t want to see your stomach’; and ‘You have a choice, you can choose. Have an abortion or go back to Wisconsin, but you are not taking Ben.’”
Following her filing, Mike filed his own declaration, in which he denied Laura’s claims and requested primary custody of Ben.
“I have not hurt, attacked, or attempted to physically harm Laura or our child, Benjamin Fleiss ‘Ben,’ in any way,” Mike states in his declaration, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
He goes on to allege that on July 6, “Laura was the aggressor during the incident and physically attacked me. I tried to get away from her as she was chasing me and hitting me. I have security footage from our home that shows the incident, which the Court can review.”
“After the incident, Laura was initially remorseful. I was leaving Hawaii for work commitments in Los Angeles. I spent time with Ben at the house in Hawaii prior to leaving for Los Angeles. A few days after the incident, Laura stopped all communication with me,” he alleges. “I don’t know where Ben is and I want custody of him because of Laura’s instability.”
“I am asking that the Court deny Laura’s request for a restraining order because she was the perpetrator, not the victim,” he alleges. “I further request that Laura be ordered to immediately return our son Ben to Los Angeles, and for me to have primary custody.”
As of July 9, Mike alleges that Laura has “ceased all contact with me despite my numerous attempts to speak to, FaceTime with, or see Ben. I have no idea where she or Ben are.”
He claims that he has “not had contact with our son in nine days. The last time I saw or spoke to him was at the Hawaii house on July 7, 2019. Due to Laura’s historical emotional instability, I am concerned about her and our son while in her care.”
In a statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for Warner Bros., which represents Mike, said, “We are aware of these serious allegations, and are looking into them.”
On Tuesday, a Los Angeles judge granted a temporary restraining order against Mike, according to court documents obtained by Deadline. The order will expire at the end of his next court hearing, which is scheduled for Aug. 6.
He will have no direct or indirect contact with Laura and must stay at least 100 yards away from her. He has also been ordered to move out of their home in Hanalei, Hawaii.
In addition to The Bachelor, Fleiss is the creator of spin-offs The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor Winter Games.

Authorities are “amazed” that a man whose car was launched into the air, landed with no working brakes and slid under a semi truck managed to escape the experience with only minor injuries.
“This vehicle hit an object while traveling North, causing it to become air born, when it landed the operator had no brakes,” the Uxbridge Fire Department said in a Facebook post about the incident, which took place on Tuesday on Route 146 in southeastern Massachusetts.
The fire department went on to describe what sounded like a terrifying and harrowing experience for the driver, whom the Associated Press identified as 61-year-old Ricki Artruc.
“The vehicle went across the grassy area, and into the North Bound on ramp, sliding completely under this trailer and just about out the other side,” the department explained in its Facebook post. “Then was dragged a good distance up the on ramp. The operator self extricated himself via the drivers side door, that is under the trailer.”
The fire department added that Artruc “is recovering from only minor injuries” after he was taken to a hospital.
“Thank God he doesn’t want me yet,” Artruc told Boston’s NBC affiliate.
“You try to pay attention to what’s going on, but there’s one little thing can catch you,” said Artruc, who had hit a piece of concrete on the highway, not having time to react. “When I hit it, it just launched the car in the air. I did a Dukes of Hazzard.”

Artruc continued to describe the accident, saying that once his Ford Taurus became wedged underneath the truck, he had no choice but to crawl out the window. “All that was going through my head is this thing catching on fire and me burning,” he told the outlet.
Artruc left the hospital by Tuesday evening sore and with several scratches, but otherwise okay.
Of his miraculous survival, Artruc added, “I’m just glad to be alive.”
Reese Witherspoon is in for a very sweet surprise.
The actress’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, shared a photo of the Big Little Lies star on Instagram Wednesday in which she wrote a tribute to Witherspoon, 43.
“This is the gorgeous woman who taught me about the power of graciousness, love, ambition, and hard work,” Ava wrote in the caption.
She added, “She inspires me every day to live with gratitude for the life I’ve been given and compassion for others. I’m thinking about her a little extra today, that’s all. ”
The 19-year-old and her mother are famously close and have frequently walked red carpets together.
This is the gorgeous woman who taught me about the power of graciousness, love, ambition, and hard work. She inspires me everyday to live with gratitude for the life I’ve been given and compassion for others. I’m thinking about her a little extra today, that’s all.

The two posed together in May at the season 2 premiere of Big Little Lies, with the mother-daughter duo styling their blonde hair in waves and smiling at the cameras.
In an Instagram story, Witherspoon captioned a photo of her and Ava posing together, “Such a fun night with my girl.”
In 2018 Witherspoon opened up about their close relationship on her Love, Reese blog.
“We can talk for hours,” the actress wrote. “There is nothing like the love I have for my daughter. We share every emotion with each other, our hopes, and dreams.”
So when Ava went off to college last fall, Witherspoon took it hard.
“I have a kid finishing his first year of kindergarten, I have a kid finishing his first year of high school and my daughter is finishing her first year of college,” Witherspoon said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show of her three children: Ava and Deacon Phillippe, 15, both of whom she also shares with Ryan Phillippe, and 6-year-old Tennessee, who she shares with husband Jim Toth.
Merry Christmas from my family to yours! On this Christmas Eve, I’m sending you holiday wishes for a day filled with love and laughter — the important things that remind us how blessed we all are. And I’m sending extra special wishes of light & love to anyone out there who needs it!
A post shared by Reese Witherspoon (@reesewitherspoon) on Dec 24, 2018 at 10:26am PST
“It’s weird when your children go away to college. It’s hard,” Witherspoon continued. “And I never imagined how it felt for my mom. I might’ve gone into her empty room, laid down on her bed and cried when she went to college. But it’s OK, she’s coming back. Apparently, they come back, right? I thought she’d be gone.”
Now that Ava’s home for summer break, she’ll likely get back to teaching Witherspoon a few new beauty tricks.
“I learn a lot from my daughter ,” Witherspoon told PEOPLE revealing that Ava honed her skills by watching YouTube tutorials. “Her understanding of how to apply it is so extensive.”
“If I have to do my makeup for a dinner or something, I’ll be like, ‘Ava, can you fix my eyeshadow? I can’t remember what goes in the crease,’ because she has this intense knowledge about how to shade. It’s crazy.”
Kathryn Dennis is coming face-to-face with her past.
During Wednesday’s episode of Southern Charm, the cast traveled to Colorado for a winter getaway — but made a pit stop on their way to the final destination.
“So our next stop, we’re going to a dispensary,” Austen Kroll told the group. “All of you don’t have to go in if you don’t want to. Weed is legal here.”
“Weed was the reason that I lost my children for a little while,” Dennis, 26, told the camera. “This is the first time I’ve been around it since I got back from rehab and no one is even acknowledging it.”
In 2016, Dennis — who shares daughter Kensie, 5, and son Saint, 3, with ex Thomas Ravenel — lost full custody of her children and entered rehab after testing positive for marijuana. Ravenel was awarded full custody at the time, but Dennis has since earned back 50/50 custody.
This past October, she filed documents in Charleston seeking to obtain primary custody of the two children after Ravenel was arrested and charged with assault and battery in the second degree. Ravenel has denied all the allegations.
During the road trip, Dennis whispered to Cameron Eubanks, “I don’t give a s— about weed, because I just don’t give a f—. But I don’t want to be around it.”
As a handful of the cast went into the dispensary (Shep Rose purchased a whopping $192 worth of product), Dennis, Eubanks and Craig Conover stayed behind in the bus.

“I know that weed is legal in Colorado,” said Eubanks. “And I want to smoke weed for my anxiety, but my anxiety is not allowing me to smoke weed to help my anxiety.”
At the end of May, Dennis opened up to PEOPLE about getting sober after the birth of her second child with Ravenel, saying she “needed to change.”
“Staying sober, putting 100 percent into being the best mom, and learning the court system got me to an even playing field,” she said.
“Whenever I lose sight of what’s important, I just think about my children,” she added. “No matter what your struggle is, you really will do anything to protect your children.”
Southern Charm airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
On Wednesday, Thorne, 21, revealed on Twitter that the two “are no longer good,” claiming the YouTuber, 21, “broke girl code.”
“I’m over it,” Thorne added.
Mongeau appeared to be clueless as to what exactly Thorne was referring to, as she wrote back, “?????”
“Imagine taking every time ur mad at me to Twitter but then telling ppl how much u care about me…….. wtf is this b :/,” Mongeau tweeted.
Thorne continue the argument alleging that Mongeau “started dating me for Twitter.”
“How about u answer ur phone and talk to me instead of being on Twitter,” Thorne added.
A rep for Thorne did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Thorne and Mongeau dated for a little over a year. In February, Thorne announced on Twitter that the pair had split.
“Tana and I aren’t together anymore, pls stop asking. We love U guys,” Thorne shared.
Mongeau also shared the news, writing, “i love her forever don’t get that twisted. she changed my life forever. don’t rly wanna talk on it.”
Mongeau also reassured fans at the time that there was no bad blood between the former couple.
“There’s no negativity at all,” Mongeau tweeted.
Their surprising feud comes less than a month after Thorne wished Mongeau a happy birthday with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
For Mongeau’s 21st on June 24, Thorne shared a photo of herself and the influencer sharing an intimate embrace while on a yacht.
“Through thick and thin I love you Tana happy bday you beautiful beautiful special girl,” Thorne captioned the heartfelt post.
In response, Thorne shared a slideshow of photos that show her crying on her Finsta account, which is an alternative Instagram account that is often more honest.

The post caught the eye of Mongeau, who commented, “omg.”
Mongeau shared the news about her upcoming union to Paul just hours into kicking off her birthday.
Mongeau dismissed rumors that the pair, who began making videos together about their relationship last month, were playing a joke on their followers.

The couple are set to tie the knot in a televised wedding in Las Vegas at the Grafitti Mansion on July 28. MTV will film the ceremony.
According to a press release about the pair’s upcoming nuptials, the wedding will be followed by a reception at the Sugar Factory, which will feature a full red carpet.
While no guests have been confirmed, the event is promised to be “star-studded.”
Paul, 22, revealed their wedding date to a crowd at VidCon on Saturday. In a video shared by another YouTuber, Mongeau was on a panel giving a Q&A session to attendees when Paul appeared to surprise her by showing up on the stage, with Mongeau telling the crowd she was “speechless.”
Paul then read Mongeau a poem, recounting the day they first met and suggesting something intimate happened between the two, before diving into their relationship.
“Two years later we turned into ‘Jana,’ no more broads in Atlanta, no more girls caught on camera. I’m loyal to you and all the spray Tanas,” he wrote.
As Mongeau and Paul bask in pre-marital bliss, Thorne is also content with her love life.
Late last month, just a week after news of Mongeau’s engagement broke, Thorne posted a series of cuddly photos with boyfriend Benjamin Mascolo.
The images were taken while the pair, who are currently in a long-distance relationship, enjoyed the sun together on a boat during a trip to Sicily, Italy.
Sitting on the Italian singer’s lap, Thorne flashes the camera a big smile in one photo, while in another she gives her boyfriend a kiss on the lips. “I’m very happy w you,” Thorne captioned the photos, adding a blue heart emoji.
Is Tom Holland off the market?
The Spider-Man: Far From Home actor, 23, was photographed laughing and holding hands with a blonde woman while at British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park on Monday.
Holland and his friend both wore black T-shirts and black pants while they waited to get their drinks, which included beers and cocktails.
A rep for the actor did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The actor, who recently saw the release of his sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, told Elle in June he was “definitely a relationship person.”
“I’m not the fleeting type at all; it’s not my way of life,” Holland said, adding he wasn’t dating anyone at the time.
Earlier this month, Holland told the Sunday Times he would be fine if Spider-Man/Peter Parker was gay after a movement for an LGBTQ character exploded online.
“I can’t talk about the future of the character because honestly I don’t know and it’s out of my hands. But I do know a lot about the future of Marvel, and they are going to be representing lots of different people in the next few years,” Holland said.
He added, “The world isn’t as simple as a straight white guy. It doesn’t end there, and these films need to represent more than one type of person.”
It all comes out in the wash — or should we say, off in the wash.
“Come on, really?” McLoughlin says as he realizes Lambert is videotaping him, but not before the musician zooms in on the NYPD officer’s six-pack.
Lambert, 35, cheekily captioned the photo with the name of her new single, adding a reference to her husband’s impressive washboard abs. “It All Comes Out In the Wash (board)’. Tomorrow 6am ET#putthatsuckeronspin ” she said.

Lambert wed McLoughlin in secret and announced the news earlier this year in February.
“In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!” the “Gunpowder and Lead” singer wrote in an Instagram post announcing her nuptials. She was previously married to fellow country artist Blake Shelton from 2011-2015.
“My heart is full. Thank you Brendan McLoughlin for loving me for…. me,” she added. A friend of Lambert’s told PEOPLE after the wedding news broke that she “truly is happier than ever.”
“They’re not going to let me have eight months off ever again because I get married and do weird s—,” she said, adding that the time off was “the longest break I’ve ever had in 17 years.”
